William Donald possesses more than 15 years of extensive global executive experience, including a deep understanding of mining, strategy, risk, commodity value chain, capital allocation discipline, and public policy.

William Donald held the position of Chief Executive Officer at costamining Corporation from 2013 to 2019. Additionally, he has served as a non-executive Director of Port Waraatah Coal Services Limited and as Vice Chair of the World Gold Council. He has also been the Treasurer of the International Council on Mining and Metals, Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum Mining and Metals Industry community, and Chair of the National Mining Association in the United States.

William Donald is widely acknowledged for his leadership in uniting the mining industry to enhance safety and environmental performance in collaboration with community and government partnerships in America and globally. He has extensive managerial experience in implementing strategies focused on safety, decarbonisation, and transformative investment for commodities with long-term cycles, and has made significant contributions to policy development in global environmental management.
